Ant Colony

You are the yellow ant of a black ant colony. Find food and lay scent trails your sisters will follow, decide who forages, digs and nurses, raise an army, and raid the red colony's nest to kill its queen - before the reds kill yours.

Difficulty Easy Normal Hard

How to play

Your yellow ant

Left-click the ground to walk there, or hold the left button and your ant keeps walking towards the pointer (or use the arrow keys / WASD). Right-drag to look around, scroll to zoom. On a touch screen: tap to walk, drag to look around, pinch to zoom.
Walk onto food and press Pick up (Space), or just click the food. Carry it home: you leave a scent trail and your foragers follow it back to the pile.
Click a nest entrance (or press Go underground, E) to go below. Underground, click a tunnel to walk, or click soil next to a tunnel in your own nest to dig it.
Your ant fights any red ant it touches, and heals at home. If it dies, you take over another ant.

Your colony

The queen lays eggs while there is food and nest space. Nurses raise eggs into larvae, pupae and new ants.
Drag the dot in the triangle to choose how many workers forage, dig (more nest space, a bigger colony) and nurse (faster hatching).
The caste slider sets how many new ants hatch as soldiers: tougher fighters that guard the nest.
Everyone eats. Run out of food and the colony starves.

Winning

Recruit nearby ants (R) and they follow you. Lead them into the red nest and they storm the red queen. Kill her to win.
The reds send raiding parties to your nest. Lose your queen and the game is over.
Watch out for the spider (gang up on it and it becomes a feast) and the antlion pit in the yard.
Dead ants become food. Nothing is wasted in an ant colony.
